Identification of the blast resistance genes in three elite restorer lines of hybrid rice

Abstract Hybrid rice has the advantage to pyramid multiple resistance ( R ) genes because a hybrid cultivar is developed from cross of sterile line with restorer that can harbor different genes. Thus, knowing in an elite will help combination into cultivar. Here, we identified blast Shu Hui 548 (SH548), 882 (SH882), and Wu Shan Si Miao (WSSM), three lines showed fungus disease nurseries. At controlled laboratory conditions, exhibited more than 20 China Rice Blast strains avirulence genes, indicating their broad-spectrum disease. Expression analyses detected transcripts known Sequencing expressed indicated that, besides Pid2 , SH548 also contains Pi2 Ptr SH882 WSSM contain Pikm Pi9 -Type5, respectively. -Type5 novel functional allele . Therefore, SH548, SH882, be exploited containing other they used as donors disease-resistance breeding programs.
